The Attorney General's Office And The Ombudsman Strengthen Legal Accountability Synergy
JAKARTA - Deputy Attorney General, Feri Wibisono, received a visit from the Ombudsman. This meeting aims to strengthen coordination and synergy between institutions in order to increase accountability in the law enforcement system in Indonesia.
During the meeting, Feri emphasized the importance of accountability and justice as the main foundation in law enforcement.
He also highlighted the role of the Ombudsman in the Prosecutor's Formation Education and Training (PPPJ), which is considered strategic in increasing awareness and understanding of prosecutors regarding the principles of accountability.
In addition, Feri suggested that the Ombudsman be given the opportunity to participate in the training organized by the Prosecutor's Education and Training Agency (Badiklat).
According to him, this initiative can improve the competence of the Ombudsman in monitoring and strengthening public service standards.

Not only that, but Feri also emphasized the importance of strengthening the Ombudsman institutions, one of which is by presenting legal experts in the process of supervising law enforcement agencies.
He gave an example of practices in other countries, such as the Philippine Ombudsman who has the same authority as the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Thai Ombudsman who play a role in bureaucratic reform.
Through this coordination, it is hoped that transparency, accountability, and effectiveness in law enforcement will increase. With closer synergy, the AGO and the Ombudsman can provide better legal services for the community.
