Sri Mulyani Affirms Fixed Budget Efficiency Of IDR 306.69 Trillion Despite Reconstruction

Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani emphasized that the amount of budget efficiency in 2025 will remain at Rp306.69 trillion even though there are reconstruction directions so that the amount is the same as stated in Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 1 of 2025.

"It's still the same, it doesn't change (the size of the efficiency)," Sri Mulyani told the media crew at the DPR RI Building, Thursday, February 13.

On a different occasion, Deputy Chairman of the Budget Agency (Banggar) of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Gerindra Party faction, Wihadi Wijanto, emphasized that the budget that has been streamlined will be used for Quick Win Prabowo programs that directly touch the community.

"That will be Rp. 360 trillion later, there will be Quick Win programs, which, for example, the construction and improvement of schools. That's of course there will also be additions there, now this is why it immediately moves there for additional efficiency," he said.

Meanwhile, President Prabowo's government budget efficiency policy is contained in Presidential Instruction Number 1 of 2025 concerning Expenditure Efficiency in the Implementation of the State Budget and Regional Budget in 2025 and Decree of the Minister of Finance No. S-37/MK.02/2025 concerning the Efficiency of Expenditure for K/L in the Implementation of the 2025 State Budget.

Previously, Sri Mulyani conveyed that the ministry/institutional budget efficiency policy (K/L) in 2025 would be a reference in the preparation of the 2026 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN).

"We also agree that the efficiency of K/L in 2025 will be used as a baseline if this creates a new culture for the efficiency of the bureaucracy in all institutions, so of course later the results of 2025 will also be used for the preparation of 2026," said Sri Mulyani in a meeting with Commission XI DPR RI, Thursday, February 13.

Sri Mulyani said that in 2026, the preparation had not yet started or was still in the early thinking stage.

However, Sri Mulyani conveyed that the efforts being made at this time are expected to create a new culture that emphasizes the implementation of tasks efficiently, quickly, and well, without sacrificing public services. In addition, the various targets that have been set will still be maintained without any reduction.
