Sri Mulyani Affirms That The Social Assistance And Education Budget Will Not Be Cut

JAKARTA - The government is efficiency in the Ministry/Institutional budget (K/L) for the 2025 fiscal year.

The government efficiency policy of President Prabowo's administration is contained in Presidential Instruction Number 1 of 2025 concerning Expenditure Efficiency in the Implementation of the State Budget and Regional Budget in 2025 and Decree of the Minister of Finance No. S-37 / MK.02 / 2025 concerning the Efficiency of Expenditures for Ministries / Agencies in the Implementation of the 2025 State Budget.

Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati emphasized that social spending (bansos), including programs that serve the community and social assistance, will not be reduced at all.

"We will definitely conduct an inventory of all ministries/agencies (K/L) so that we can draw them up in accordance with the spirit of efficiency," he said in a meeting with Commission XI DPR RI, Thursday, February 13.

In addition, Sri Mulyani also emphasized the importance of maintaining a commitment to the education budget in accordance with constitutional provisions, which is 20 percent and will ensure compliance with this.

"We will sort it out later so that we will maintain the use of this efficiency and compliance with compliance with the constitution," he explained.
