The Roof Of The SDN 1 Ngelang Magetan Collapses, Students Are Forced To Study At The School Musala
JAKARTA - The roof of the SD Negeri (SDN) 1 Ngelang building in Ngelang Village, Magetan Regency, East Java, collapsed. This incident sent all students and teachers home.
Principal of SDN 1 Ngelang, Eni Hidayati said that before it collapsed, there were already signs that the weathered roof was eaten by age, looking curved when viewed from outside.
"Indeed, there are signs that if you want to collapse. At first the roof looked a bit curved, it got worse over time and yesterday it collapsed," Eni told reporters in Magetan, Thursday, February 13, which was confiscated by Antara.
The roof that collapsed on Wednesday, February 12, is in the room for class 2. Currently, teaching and learning activities in class 2 are forced to be placed in school prayer rooms.
Eni admitted that she had reported the incident to the Magetan Education Office for follow-up. In fact, the school has reported to the office since the roof of the building had not collapsed.
"We have done reports and submitted improvements many times, but it has not been approved. Thank God yesterday after it collapsed, it was seen from the office, and God willing, it will be renovated soon," he said.

His party added that the school had renovated its own in 2015, but only to repair tiles. Meanwhile, overall, the school building has never been completely renovated.
One of the students in grade 2 of the local school, Adella and the other students hoped that their class would be repaired soon so that teaching and learning activities would return to optimal.
Meanwhile, the school was assisted by Koramil, Polsek, and volunteers on Wednesday afternoon to work together to clean the roof materials of the collapsed building, as well as secure a number of educational props and other furniture that could still be reused.
