Erick Thohir Calls The Budget Of The Ministry Of SOEs Affected By Pangkas Rp115.6 Billion

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir revealed that his ministry's budget ceiling was cut by IDR 115.6 billion from IDR 277.5 billion. Thus, the 2025 budget obtained by the ministry amounted to IDR 161.9 billion.

The budget cuts are a follow-up to Presidential Instruction (Inpres) number 1 of 2025 concerning Expenditure Efficiency in the Implementation of the APBN and APBD for the 2025 fiscal year.

"We are still communicating with the Ministry of Finance, although yesterday we heard that the efficiency of the 2025 Ministry of SOEs' budget was IDR 161.9 billion," he said in a working meeting with Commission VI of the DPR, in Jakarta, Thursday, February 13.

Regarding budget efficiency, Erick said that his party had proposed a budget ceiling for the Ministry of SOEs in 2025 of IDR 215 billion. This means that from the initial budget ceiling of IDR 277.5 billion which can be deducted by IDR 62.5 billion.

"Alhamdulillah, yesterday afternoon we tried to propose to the Ministry of Finance, it has not been confirmed 100 percent, but they see our proposal is not something that is far-fetched because indeed our minimum limit to operating is Rp215 billion," he explained.

Erick explained that the Rp215 billion budget consisted of 54 percent cut in official travel, 50 percent decreased in SOEs supervision costs. Then reduce the IT facility to 41 percent.

"Then for the reduction of the ATK to 90 percent, 70 percent reduce the leadership facilities," he said.

In fact, said Erick, his party also reduced the budget for official vehicles by 66 percent. He said, initially all of them use electric vehicles, now they are hybrid.

"Yesterday we all rented out we tried to replace cheaper ones from electric cars to hybrid, the goal was that now the price of hybrids could be up to 66 percent cheaper," he said.

In addition, Erick said that 43 percent of savings was also made for meeting activities.

"As well as eliminating ceremonial things, we have cut it. Then 39 percent efficiency in building use," said Erick.
