KY Monitors Hotman Vs Razman Continuation Trial At The Jakut District Court Post-Cajaduh Until Lawyers Go Up To The Table

The Judicial Commission (KY) will monitor the follow-up trial of the alleged defamation case of advocate Hotman Paris Hutapea by advocate Razman Arif Nasution (Hotmanvs Razman) at the North Jakarta District Court (PN) after the commotion (6/2).

"KY has also scheduled monitoring in cases of defamation involving two advocates in North Jakarta," said KY Chief Justice and Investigation Supervision Joko Sasmito as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 12.

In addition, KY also strengthened coordination with the North Jakarta Police and the leadership of the North Jakarta District Court regarding the security of the trial so that similar incidents would no longer occur.

Head of Human Resources, Advocacy, Law, Research, and Development Division of KY Binziad Kadafi explained that his party had dispatched a team to the North Jakarta District Court one day after the commotion (7/2).

According to Kadafi, KY immediately dispatched a team to gather information and information, considering that the incident was related to the act of degrading the honor and dignity of judges (PMKH).

"Acceleration for KY to come down is very important because judges need to be given a message that they are not alone, they have the right to be protected, their independence must be monitored, but at the same time [the judge's dignity] must also be maintained," he said.

He also emphasized that in addition to supervising judges, KY is also tasked with facilitating judges as mandated in Article 20 Paragraph (1) Letter e of Law Number 18 of 2011 concerning KY.

Previously, Hotman Paris and Razman Nasution had been noisy at the trial at the North Jakarta District Court, Thursday (6/2).

According to KY, the commotion was triggered when the panel of judges asked that the trial for the examination of the victim's witness be carried out behind closed doors because there was material in the form of photos containing decency, but Razman refused.

Hotman Paris uploaded the video of the commotion on his Instagram account, @hotmanparisofficial. In the video in question, Razman, who sits as a defendant, appears to come to Hotman who sits in the witness seat.

Razman also held Hotman's shoulder, but was immediately dispersed by each team. One of the advocates wearing a robe was also seen climbing the table.

Meanwhile, Razman was charged with defaming Hotman Paris. Razman is suspected of spreading the narrative that Hotman Paris harassed his former personal assistant, Putri Iqlima Aprilia alias Iqlima Kim.

Razman was charged with violating Article 27 paragraph (3) in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph (3) of Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
