Uber Speedboat Pursuit Officers Allegedly Bring 4 Illegal CMPIs In Bengkalis Waters
JAKARTA - The chase between the officers' boat and the speedboat is suspected of carrying a prospective Indonesian migrant worker (CPMI) illegally in Bengkalis Waters, Riau Province.

Based on a report from the Riau Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Service Center (BP3MI), Wednesday, February 12, this incident began with the reconnaissance of the Dumai Navy Base (Lanal) officers in preventing cross-migrant Indonesian migrant workers from illegal in Bengkalis waters, at 17.15 WIB, Sunday 9 February.
While conducting reconnaissance, officers saw suspicious contacts of the speedboat suspected of carrying four illegal CPMIs in the waters of the Rupat Strait. However, when approached, the speedboat fled and a chase occurred.
Shots into the air six times that were carried out by officers were ignored.
The speedboat was still speeding and turned into the waters of Mesim to Malaysia even though it was blocked by officers at the Dumai River Post, Tanjung Kapal Waters at 18.30 WIB.
Officers continued to chase up to Pelintung waters but the traces of the speedboat allegedly carrying the four illegal CPMIs were increasingly difficult to reach because they were constrained by the night dark.

Previously, the Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI), Abdul Kadir Karding, campaigned for a safe route for people who wanted to work abroad.
This is done, so that the protection of migrant workers is more secure, not trapped in exploitation or criminal acts of trafficking in persons (TPPO).
This safe path campaign has been carried out by the Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KemenP2MI) in many CMPI pockets, such as areas in Java, West Nusa Tenggara, Lampung and East Nusa Tenggara.
