Presiden Prabowo: Hubungan Batin RI-Turki Cukup Dalam Setelah Terjalin 75 Tahun

BOGOR - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto assessed that the inner relationship between Indonesia and Turkey was deep enough after the diplomatic relations between the two countries lasted for 75 years, even since the Usmani-Ottoman empire.

This was conveyed by President Prabowo in a bilateral meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and delegates at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Wednesday, February 12.

"Equating this year is 75 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Turkey. After all, Indonesia's relations with Turkey have been quite long from the Usmani-Ottian imperial period. So that the inner relationship between us is quite deep," Prabowo said in his opening statement in front of the delegates who were present as reported by Antara.

In his remarks, the President stated that President Erdogan's state visit and his delegation to Indonesia on February 11-12 was a great honor for the Indonesian nation.

President Prabowo also joked that he should have made an official visit to Turkey first. This is because President Erdogan was re-elected as President in 2023, as well as the longest-serving President in Turkey after 20 years.

"I should have first come on an official visit to Turkey. Because President Erdogan is in terms of dedication is a senior, a senior President. But I thank you for your noble arrival," said Prabowo.

During President Erdogan's state visit to Indonesia, the two leaders also carried out the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC).

According to the President, this bilateral meeting and the HLSCC meeting proved that the partnership between Indonesia and Turkey was very solid and solid.

"Also today is the first High Level Strategic Cooperation Council Meeting. Once again, thank you. Indonesia does not have many regular bilateral mechanisms at the head of state level," said President Prabowo.

Prabowo was accompanied by a number of ministers of the Red and White Cabinet in the bilateral meeting, namely Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Coordinating Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, and Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi.
