Houses Expelled By Government, Watini Sindir President Prabowo: 'Why Are Low Treatments Like This?'

JAKARTA - Sobs colored the eviction of densely populated houses on Perumnas land covering an area of 38 thousand meters located at RT 05/08, Jalan Dr. Sumarno, Pulo Gebang Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta, Wednesday, February 12, afternoon.

Penggusuran lahan tersebut dikeluhan oleh warga setempat yang sudah menempati selama belasan tahun. Warga juga menyampaikan pesan kepada Presiden Prabowo atas realitas apa yang telah dialaminya sebagai rakyat miskin.

"Please Mr. Prabowo. So that Pak Prabowo knows. I am a difficult person," said Watini, crying because her house was evicted by the East Jakarta District Court.

Apart from being a victim of eviction, Watini's husband, who works as a kopyor ice trader, is also in pain.

"His father (Watini's husband) continues to be sickly. I have lived here for 13 years. His father is sick and in pain. This (his daughter) lives in an orphanage," he said.

Because the Watini family's economic condition was inadequate, he was forced to send his child to an orphanage.

"This is a child who left him in the Duren Sawit orphanage. I live alone with his father, his father is sickly. Every day I trade ice kopyor, I push the cart every day," he said.

Watini hopes that President Prabowo will pay special attention to underprivileged residents regarding decent housing and justice.

"He said the government wants to pay low attention to why low ones are treated like this," he said.

Previously, it was reported that hundreds of houses that stood on empty land in RT 05/08, Pulo Gebang Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta, were evicted by joint officers from the East Jakarta District Court (PN), Wednesday, February 12.

The East Jakarta District Court also deployed an excavator to knock down residents' houses made of wood and plywood. The control took place from 09.00 WIB.
