Turkish President Erdogan Arrives At Bogor Palace, Welcomed By 21 Cannons

JAKARTA - The arrival of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Turkish First Lady Emine Gulbaran Erdogan to the Presidential Palace in Bogor City, West Java, Wednesday, February 12, was greeted by cannon booms and equestrian troops.

According to Antara's observation from around the Main Gate of the Bogor Palace, President Erdogan's convoy of vehicles came from Jalan Jalak Harupat at around 11.22 WIB to start a state visit received by President Prabowo Subianto as well as a bilateral meeting.

At least 21 equestrians carrying red and white flags were prepared in front of the Main Gate of the Bogor Palace and some lined up in the courtyard of the Palace 30 minutes before President Erdogan's arrival.

The red and white pants troops then entered the Bogor Palace accompanied the black sedan that Erdogan and his wife were traveling in.

After arriving at the Bogor Presidential Palace, President Erdogan was greeted with a cannon boom of 21 times.

The cannon boom came from the courtyard of the Regional Government and Development Coordination Agency (Bakorwil) building, which is located opposite the palace.

In addition, the public and around 2,500 elementary and junior high school students were also enthusiastic about the arrival of Erdogan around the pedestrian that President Erdogan passed. They carried the small flag of the Republic of Indonesia and Turkey

President Prabowo Subianto has arrived at the Bogor Presidential Palace since around 09.37 WIB to welcome President Erdogan.

The President and First Lady of Turkey landed at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, Tuesday, February 11 evening, greeted directly under the stairs by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, in the pouring rain.

Prabowo also accompanied Erdogan until a car headed to the inn at a hotel where Erdogan and his wife spent the night in Jakarta.

Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Yusuf Permana said that President Prabowo, who directly welcomed the arrival of President Erdogan and First Lady Emine Erdogan at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, on Tuesday night, was a form of respect for President Erdogan.

"President Prabowo is very close to President Erdogan and welcoming him at this airport is a form of his respect for President Erdogan," Yusuf said in a written message received in Jakarta, Tuesday.

Yusuf said President Prabowo took President Erdogan in a car to the hotel where he spent the night.
