Explorative And Personal, Jackson Wang All-Out On The Release Of The Album MAGIC MAN 2

JAKARTA - The charismatic solo artist, Jackson Wang, presents his latest album entitled MAGIC MAN 2 which he thinks is very personal. This album is his expression in reflecting on his emotional journey and personal growth.

Besides feeling closer to the story of his life, this album is also worked on with a different approach. Jackson plays more exploratoryly in music sound and songwriting.

As an overview of this project, Jackson will release a single teaser "High Alone" on February 12, 2025, before its full release on February 13, 2025 across digital platforms.

The teaser single "High Alone" will be part of the MAGIC MAN 2 album, produced by Jackson himself. The perfectionist worked on this single in detail within a year. For the first time in his career, Jackson chose to take a step back from the spotlight, giving himself room to deal with the emotions that have been buried.

In MAGIC MAN 2, Jackson explores the complexity of his relationship with alter ego which was first introduced in the album MAGIC MAN (2022). But this time, the dark and toxic sides of the character will further be revealed, showing deeper emotional dynamics.

The album is compiled in four phases, each describing the stages of the grieving process of denial, loss of identity, search for self-constraints, until finally reaching acceptance.

I created MAGIC MAN as a mask to understand my pain, an alter ego that represents the darkest emotions in me. When I've been away from the spotlight for almost a year, I realized I've never really looked for the meaning of magic for myself," Jackson Wang said in a written broadcast received by VOI, February 12.

"I went through a slumped phase, avoided reality, was destroyed, then slowly got up and accepted everything. The only way to let go of that feeling was by writing it down, and for the first time, I put it into music. This album is a journey towards honesty, listening to the heart, and accepting all sides of life. This is MAGIC MAN II," he explained.

Outside the world of music, Jackson is one of the fashion icons. He became a Global House Ambassador for Louis Vuitton, Cartier Ambassador, and Hennessy Ambassador. Recently, he was also appointed Creative Director for Nike and Jordan.
