Apple Partners With Alibaba To Present The AI Feature On IPhone
JAKARTA Apple partnered with Alibaba in expanding the Artificial Intelligence (AI) feature they developed. Later, these features will be launched for compatible iPhone users in China.
The leak, which was conveyed by a source of The Information, provides certainty about Apple's AI strategy in the country. The company is starting to lose its market share due to competition with domestic phones. Since last year, Huawei has started including the AI feature.
Apple deliberately chose Alibaba because of the company's data. As an e-commerce giant in China, Alibaba can recognize the habit of shopping and paying users. This is considered to help train AI models and provide the right service for iPhone users.
In expanding the Apple Intelligence feature to China, Apple is facing difficulties in choosing a local AI company. The iPhone manufacturer had chosen Baidu last year, but this partnership seems canceled as Baidu's AI model has not met Apple's standards.

Apple also briefly considered the AI model Tencent developed. For DeepSek, Apple doesn't seem interested in the popular AI model in the past month. Apple deliberately ignores DeepSek because of the company's experience.
This startup company is considered to lack the workforce and experience Apple needs, especially since Apple needs an AI model capable of handling large numbers of customers. Of course, this AI model must be free from security concerns as well.
Partnership with Alibaba will be a very important step for iPhone sales in China. This phone continues to experience a decline in sales figures, even in the holiday quarter which is usually the largest sales period. According to the company, this happens because there is no AI feature that is the main selling point of the latest iPhone.
