Yemen's Houthis Ready To Attack Israel If Gaza Strikes Again
JAKARTA - Iran-backed Yemen's Houthi group is ready to launch an attack on Israel if they continue its attack on Gaza and are not committed to a ceasefire agreement.
This was conveyed by Houthi leader Abdulmalik al-Houthi on Tuesday, February 11.
The Houthis have attacked Israeli ships and other ships in the Red Sea, disrupting global shipping lines, as an act of solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza during Israel's war with Hamas.
"Our hands are on the trigger and we are ready to immediately escalate against Israeli enemies if re-escalation occurs in the Gaza Strip," al-Houthi said in a televised address.
The ceasefire deal in Gaza looked fragile after Hamas said they would stop releasing Israeli hostages for what Palestinian militant groups called Israeli abuses against the treaty.
