Alluding To The Harvey Moeis Case, The Minister Of Health Asks For Tightened BPJS Health PBI Recipients

Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin requested that the category of the poor who are recipients of BPJS Health Contribution Assistance (PBI) be tightened.

He also mentioned the Harvey Moeis case.

Initially, Budi said, adjustments were needed to be made to BPJS Kesehatan's contributions.

However, this increase in BPJS Health contributions must be carried out fairly so that the small community is not burdened.

"Well, it's just this definition of poverty that we have to be careful, for example Harvey Moeis, that's an example that should not be repeated again. Why is the person as rich as he is, as much as he can be paid for," he said in a working meeting with Commission IX of the DPR RI, quoted from the YouTube account of Commission IX of the DPR RI, Tuesday, February 11.

Budi assessed that people who are financially capable should not receive assistance in the BPJS Health program.

Therefore, he reminded BPJS Kesehatan and the National Social Security Council (DJSN) to pay attention to the accuracy of recipient data.

"I'm a banking person, so there's a lot of data, it's not suitable if people are given, subsidized by PBI (Restrictions on Contribution Assistance), both by the local government, and by the central government, but having a credit card with a limit of IDR 50 million, that's no longer suitable," he said.

Not only that, according to Budi, people who have 2,200 watts of electricity are also not eligible to receive BPJS Health contribution assistance from both the regional government (Pemda) and the central government.

"Or he's for example paid for PBI for free, but kWh has 2,200 electricity, yes maybe now it's Rp. 1 million. Well, things like this that I also asked for, at that time to DJSN, with friends at BPJS, please fix the data with crossings like that, electricity data, banking data is the best quality data," he said.

Currently, continued Budi, data on BPJS Kesehatan PBI recipients has reached 96 million.

He admitted that he had spoken with Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf to adjust the recipient data to banking and electricity data.

"We just cross that data from our PBI with electricity data, maybe someone will pay 2,200, given PBI, it could be like Harvey Moeis. We will return it to us later, we are ashamed, as if we can't manage our data properly," he said.

"We will do these things later. So that later when we discuss the tariff, the tariff is correct, given to the right person," he continued.
