KKP Calls Bekasi Sea Pagar Demolished As Follow-up To Sealing

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) said that the demolition of the sea fence in the waters of Paljaya, Segarajaya Village, Tarumajaya District, Bekasi Regency, West Java, was a follow-up to the sealing on January 15, 2025.

"The unlicensed marine fence in Bekasi has been dismantled starting today independently by a team from PT TRPN," said Director General of Marine and Fishery Resources Supervision Pung Nugroho Saksono (Ipunk) in Bekasi Regency, Tuesday, February 11, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said that this demolition was carried out because the sea space utilization activity was not equipped with a permit in the form of an Approval for the Compliance of Marine Spatial Utilization Activities (PKKPRL).

"KKP through the Directorate General of PSDKP is present to take action against all sea space utilization activities that do not have a basic permit and have the potential to damage biodiversity and cause changes in marine space functions such as sea fencing," he said.

PT TRPN will be subject to administrative sanctions based on the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Regulation number 31 of 2021 concerning the imposition of administrative sanctions in the marine and fisheries sector, article 7 paragraph 2 letters b, h, and i.

Ipunk explained that the sanctions for the legislation include administrative fines, demolition of buildings and restoration of the function of the sea space.

"PT TRPN has acknowledged a violation of sea space utilization and is ready to be subject to administrative sanctions in accordance with applicable regulations and carry out recovery by lifting fences and piles," he said.

Sumono Darwinto, Director of Marine Resources Supervision, explained that the imposition of sanctions was carried out based on the results of field verification for the area of violations of sea space utilization activities by the Marine Police Team (Polsus) of the Directorate General of PSDKP with representatives of PT TRPN accompanied by their attorneys.

"Based on the results of field verification, there were two types of violations found, namely PKKPRL violations and reclamation violations," said Sumono.

The reclamation violation, continued Sumono, was related to the findings of the use of land without PKKPRL covering an area of 6.7912 hectares consisting of a homebase area of 3.35 hectares and a border of 3.43 hectares.

Previously, KKP Minister Sakti Wahyu Trenggono hoped that the management of marine space would be carried out in an orderly and wise manner so that the preservation of marine and fishery resources would be maintained for children and grandchildren in the future.
