Cirebon City Police have exposed the arrest of a Koran teacher who was reported to have committed allegations of immoral acts of molesting a minor in Cirebon, West Java.
"This case involves a suspect with the initials H (39), a Koran teacher who is suspected of committing indecent acts against a 13-year-old girl," said Cirebon City Police Chief AKBP Eko Iskandar in Cirebon, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, January 11.
This case was successfully revealed after the police received a direct report from the victim's family on February 7, 2025. Based on the report, officers from the Cirebon City Police Satreskrim immediately conducted an investigation until they finally arrested the suspect.
According to him, the suspect took advantage of his closeness to the victim who had studied the Koran for two years to carry out the action.
The suspect persuaded the victim with a promise to take responsibility. After picking up the victim, the suspect took him to a hotel in Cirebon, where the act was carried out," he said.
He emphasized that the police are still investigating the case and urge the public to immediately report if they know of a case of alleged child molestation.
The police also succeeded in uncovering a similar case involving the suspect with the initials S (51) in Cirebon. From the results of the examination, suspect S was suspected of mixing sleeping pills into food and drinks belonging to his 16-year-old stepdaughter, before committing her actions.

Eko emphasized that the two suspects were charged with Article 81 in conjunction with Article 76D and/or Article 82 in conjunction with Article 76E of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 12 of 2016 concerning Child Protection, with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a fine of up to IDR 5 billion.
