Corruption Perception Index 2024: Indonesia Wins Score 37 And Sits In 99th Place
JAKARTA - Transparency International (TI) released the corruption perception index (IPK) or corruption perception index today, Tuesday, February 11. As a result, Indonesia ranks 99th with a score of 37.
"CPI Indonesia is at 37 and has a ranking of 99. What does that mean, there has been an increase," said Wawan Heru Suyatmiko as Deputy for Transparency International Indonesia at an online launch event, Tuesday, February 11.
This GPA measures the risk of corruption in the public and political sectors in a country. The figure is released on a scale of 0 or indicates the highest corruption of up to 100 which means the lowest corruption.
Wawan explained that Indonesia's GPA has increased by three points in 2024. Because, in 2023, the score obtained was only 37.
This acquisition puts Indonesia in the same position as Argentina, Ethiopia, Morocco, and Lesotho. Meanwhile, for the Asean state, there are several countries that have experienced improvements, such as Indonesia, namely Singapore, Timor Leste and Laos.
Singapore's GPA rose from 83 to 84 in 2024; Timor Leste rose from 43 to 44; and Laos which rose from 28 to 33. However, there are also those who experienced declines such as Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia, and Myanmar.
