Commission V Of The DPR Does Not Want To Have Bad Allegations About Blocking The IKN Budget
JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission V DPR Lasarus said his party did not want prejudices regarding the blocking of the budget for the capital city of Nusantara (IKN). He believes the government has good reasons to stop the IKN development project.
"We trust the government because it is still too early for me, we are all here to say where it is headed, because efficiency with a budget of approximately Rp. 300 trillion is still in the government position, because it is impossible to store it", said Lasarus, Tuesday, February 11.
"It is only possible that the government is currently looking for which positions need to be streamlined which ones do not need to be streamlined," he continued.
Apart from the blocking of the budget for IKN, Lasarus has focused more on cutting funds for a number of mandatory programs in Commission V of the DPR RI, such as preservation. Preservation is a program to treat road conditions throughout Indonesia.
"Preservation funds are funds used for us to maintain road conditions so that good road conditions survive. If we don't budget for road conditions, the road will decrease," said Lasarus.
"We want Eid al-Fitr to be destroyed throughout Indonesia, because this preservation is for all of Indonesia, for example yesterday the preservation was still zero. This will definitely be all improved," continued the PDIP legislator.
On the other hand, Lasarus agrees with Commission V of the DPR RI in a position of obeying the principles or following the state mechanism. In this case, Commission V of the DPR complied with the presidential instructions (inpres) regarding the budget efficiency issued by President Prabowo Subianto.
"The Presidential Instruction has a derivative of a circular letter from the Minister of Finance, sent here, our position here only approves, including IKN," he said.
Lasarus expressed his gratitude to the government for finally deciding to reconstruct the 2025 State Budget budget. He even admitted that he had held an internal meeting to follow up on the direction of the DPR leadership to stop working meetings with ministers until the budget reconstruction was completed.

"It will not take long, of course I am also a member of the DPR, the People's Representative may not take long because if it takes longer, all of this is silent, for example today there are 2.5 million construction workers who have not been able to work, all are still waiting. The stone business does not move, the sand business does not move, the cement business does not move. Everything is still in a stationary position," said Lasarus.
