Deputy Minister Tiko: Danantara Will Become A Government Investment Mobilization Vehicle

Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Kartika Wirjoatmodjo said that the Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) would be the driving vehicle for government investment.

Tiko, Kartika Wirjoatmodjo's nickname, said that the development of the Danantara is part of the SOE Law which was recently passed.

"Under this new BUMN law, we will develop our new superholding, Danantara. This will be a BUMN superholding and become a driving vehicle for government investment in Indonesia," he said at the Mandiri Investment Forum (MIF) 2025, in Jakarta Tuesday, February 11.

The plan, continued Tiko, is that this superholding will be launched as early as next month or to be precise in March 2025.

"We will launch this (Department) organization hopefully next month (March) or more)," he said.

Tiko said that currently the government is still finalizing a number of details related to the Danantara. Therefore, Tiko asked investors to be patient in waiting for the launch of the agency.

"Please be patient for a month to ensure that there are appropriate details regarding this organization," he said.

In addition, Tiko also admitted that his party is optimistic that state companies will be able to make a significant contribution and create value for all investors in 2025.

"We are very optimistic for 2025 and ensure that our state companies will contribute and create value for all investors," he said.

Previously, SOE Minister Erick Thohir said that by ratifying it into a BUMN Bill into a law, Danantara now has a legal basis.

The law was passed in the 12th Plenary Meeting of the DPR for Session II 2024-2025 which was held today, at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Tuesday, February 4.

"The Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency has been officially established and formed in order to consolidate BUMN management and optimize dividend and investment management," said Erick at the DPR RI Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, February 4.

Erick also said that Danantara would later manage SOEs operationally. He explained that his goal was to optimize the dividends of state-owned companies in order to pursue the 8 percent economic growth target set by President Prabowo Subianto.

"The transformation of SOEs through the establishment of BPI Danantara is a strategic step in realizing the Joint vision of Advanced Indonesia Towards Golden Indonesia 2045," said Erick.
