KPK Optimistic To Win Pretrial Lawsuit Against Hasto At The South Jakarta District Court

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is confident that it will win the pretrial proposed by the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto. This confidence arose because the legal bureau had prepared proof that the determination of the status of the suspect was legal.

"We have to be optimistic," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika to reporters in Jakarta, Monday, February 10.

Tessa ensured that the legal team of the anti-corruption commission was ready to present facts regarding Hasto's determination as a suspect in the alleged bribery in the interim replacement (PAW) for members of the Indonesian House of Representatives and the obstruction of the investigation. Everything is confirmed according to the rules.

"The task of the legal bureau team is to present materials to judges what has been done according to the rules, how and in addition to witnesses, maybe what evidence is used in determining HK's brother as a suspect," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.

Hasto's pretrial hearing at the South Jakarta District Court (PN) continues to this day. The agenda is currently the examination of witnesses or experts from the KPK as the respondent.

Previously reported, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto did not accept being named a suspect so he submitted a pretrial to the South Jakarta District Court (PN). He was entangled in the bribery case for the management of interim replacement (PAW) members of the Indonesian House of Representatives together with Donny Tri Istiqomah, who is a lawyer and cadre of PDIP.

In addition, Hasto was also named a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of obstructing the KPK's move to arrest Harun Masiku in the 2020 arrest operation (OTT). Registered lawsuits with case number 5/Pid.Pra/2025/PN JKT.SEL and Djumyanto act as sole judges.
