Puncak HPN 2025 Banjarmasin, Fadli Zon: Pers Bukan Bukan Hanya Menjawal Kebijakan
BANJARMASIN - Peak Event for National Press Day (HPN) 2025, Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Sunday (9/2/2025) was warm and lively.
Indonesian Minister of Culture Fadli Zon delivered his remarks at the 2025 Banjarmasin HPN Peak Event, South Kalimantan.
Fadli Zon said the role of the press is very important in life because of the press guarding the nation's collective memory. He said the press is good, is the press that teaches and educates, not just reporting.
Minister Fadli Zon invited press personnel to reflect on the role of the press in maintaining the sovereignty of the nation, and maintaining social resilience.
The press has a strategic role in maintaining food sovereignty. Not only reporting, but overseeing policies, and supervising transparency in the vital and food sectors.

"Without data-based journalism, people can get caught up in disinformation," said Fadli Zon. After giving a speech, Minister Fadli Zon received the book Bumi Lambung Mangkurat which was handed over by the Acting Secretary of South Kalimantan. Minister Fadli Zon also gave a book about wayangan to the host South Kalimantan.
Central PWI Chairman Hendry Ch Bangun said PWI wanted to return to its identity to actively safeguard the nation's sovereignty. PWI is red and white and the Republic of Indonesia has a fixed price. The press must maintain the sovereignty of the nation as a legacy passed down by predecessors based on the decision of the First PWI Congress, February 9, 1946 in Solo.
One of them is to support the Food Security Program which is the flagship of President Prabowo Subianto. This support, continued Hendry Ch Bangun, does not mean trailing.
"We do not follow, but criticize by providing solutions to seek goodness," said Hendry Ch Bangun.
Hendry also said that journalists were born not only talking about journalism on the table. However, it maintains the sovereignty of the nation, which ends in independence, especially from food imports.
"We also continue to improve internally by improving the quality of journalists, one of which is the competency test," he said.
South Kalimantan Governor H Muhidin in a written speech read by the Secretary of the Muhammad Syarifuddin said the South Kalimantan Provincial Government is committed to supporting responsible press and activities such as HPN and Porwarnas.
South Kalimantan hosts HPN and Porwanas twice each.
"We are ready to work together and embrace all of them," said Muhammad Syarifuddin.
Present at the event were Pangdam VI/Mulawarman Major General TNI Rudy Rachmat Nugraha; South Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Rosyanto Yudha Hermawan; Karo Penmas Public Relations Division of Police Headquarters, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, Director General of Highways of the Ministry of Public Works, Roy Rizal Anwar, Chairman of the Central PWI Advisory Board, Anton Charlian, Chairman of PWI South Kalimantan Zainal Helmie.
In addition, the Chairperson of the Provincial, Regency/City PWI was also present from the western tip of Aceh to South Papua.
