Elderly Robbery Victim Dies After 6 Days In Hospital

JAKARTA During 6 days of intensive care, an elderly man (elderly) in Agam, West Sumatra with the initials H (71) died at the Achmad Mochtar Regional General Hospital (RSAM) Bukittinggi.

"The victim was declared dead after previously receiving intensive care at the Bukittinggi Hospital," said Head of the Bukittinggi Police, Kombes Yessi Kurniati, quoting ANTARA, Saturday, February 9.

The victim was previously robbed by suspect RR in Langkat, Panampuang Village, Ampek Angkek District, Agam on Saturday, February 1.

After undergoing treatment for six days, the victim who suffered a blunt object blow to the head finally died.

Head of the Bukittinggi Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Idris Bakara, said that with the death of the victim, the perpetrator was threatened with a heavier sentence.

"The perpetrator was charged with Article 365 paragraph 3 regulating theft with violence that resulted in death. The maximum penalty is 15 years in prison," said AKP Idris Bakara.

The police also arrested the perpetrator RR on Tuesday, February 4 after fleeing to the Kampar area, Riau Province using a stolen motorbike.

Shortly after the perpetrator was arrested, the victim's child, Hendra, also asked the police to punish the perpetrators who had robbed and abused the victim.

"We appreciate the Bukittinggi Police Satreskrim. We only ask for justice and maximum punishment from this perpetrator," hoped Hendra.
