Had Ambles Impact Of Floods, KAI Increased Train Line Speed In Grobogan
JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) KAI continues to strive to increase the operational speed of trains (KA) after the recovery of train lines affected by flooding in the Grobogan area.
KAI Vice President Public Relations, Anne Purba said the upstream route between Karangjati Station and Gubug Station, which was previously only accessible at a speed of 20 km per hour, has now increased its speed to 30 km per hour starting today.
Meanwhile, continued Anne, the downstream route is still in the treatment stage and the consolidation process is towards establishment.
"KAI continues to make acceleration efforts in increasing the speed of train travel after the flood-affected route has been successfully restored. With this speed increase, train operations will be more efficient and the timeliness of arrivals will be better," he said in an official statement, Friday, February 7.
Anne said this success had a positive impact on the smooth running of trains, such as the arrival of trains in the Daop 1 Jakarta area. Of the total 81 trains that arrived in Daop 1 Jakarta, delays can be minimized significantly.
"Only 10 trains have experienced delays, with an average of less than 10 minutes," he explained.
Furthermore, Anne said the same thing also happened in Daop 8 Surabaya, where train travel was smoother and timeliness was maintained.
"A total of 42 trains managed to arrive on time, this reflects an increase in speed across Grobogan which affects KA-KA coming to Daop 8," said Anne.
Anne expressed her appreciation to all parties who have worked hard in recovering and increasing this route.
