Jokowi Will Reshuffle Ministers, DPR Called Not Received Invitation
JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the DPR, Azis Syamsuddin, emphasized that his party had not received an invitation from the State Palace to attend the inauguration of the new minister. Following the cabinet reshuffle news carried out by President Jokowi this week.
"There has been no invitation, no notification," said Azis at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, April 20.
According to him, even if there is a ministerial inauguration at the Palace then the invitation is limited. Especially during a pandemic, it is possible that the only leadership present was the Chairman of the DPR, Puan Maharani.
"Usually, if invited because of the pandemic, only the head of the institution," said Azis.
Nevertheless, Azis said that Puan had not yet received an invitation to attend the inauguration of the minister of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet.
"Maybe because of the pandemic, yes, maybe Ms. Puan (who was invited, red), but I don't know. Not yet," explained Azis.
Previously, Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Pratikno denied reports that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) would conduct a reshuffle on Wednesday, April 21 tomorrow.
He emphasized that there is no reshuffle or reform of the ministers in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet as the information circulating.
"Nothing (reshuffle, red)," said Pratikno to reporters at the State Palace Complex, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, April 20.
Meanwhile, regarding the addition of the Ministry of Investment and the merger of the Ministry of Research and Technology (Kemenristek) with the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud), Pratikno asked the public to wait for President Jokowi's statement.
"Just been waiting," he said.
