PDIP Secretary General Hasto Against When KPK Wants To Confiscate His Cellphone
The Secretary General (Sekjen) of the PDI-P or PDIP, Hasto Kristiyanto, is said to have resisted when investigators wanted to confiscate his cellphone related to the alleged bribery case for the interim replacement (PAW) of the DPR Harun Masiku.
Hasto's resistance was conveyed by the KPK Legal Bureau when reading out his response to the petitum of Hasto Kristiyanto's camp at the pretrial hearing at the South Jakarta District Court.
The confiscation of cellphones was carried out when Hasto underwent examination as a witness at the KPK's Merah Putih building on June 10, 2024.
"That during the Petitioner's examination process on June 10, 2024, it began when investigators examined the Petitioner as a witness in the examination room number 27, the Indonesian KPK's Red and White building during the examination, the Respondent's investigator asked whether the Petitioner was carrying a cellphone and at that time it was answered that his cellphone was brought by his staff named Kusnadi's brother," said the KPK Legal Bureau team, Thursday, February 6.
It was explained that the confiscation of Hasto Kristiyanto's cellphone was carried out because it was indicated that there was communication with Harun Masiku. Kusnadi was also asked by investigators to go up to the investigation room.
"The Respondent's investigator suspects that the Petitioner has communicated with Harun Masiku. Furthermore, the Respondent investigator and other fellow investigators met with Kusnadi in front of the KPK's Red and White building. After meeting the Respondent investigator, he said that Kusnadi should go up to the 2nd floor to meet the Petitioner in the examination room number 27," he said.
When Kusnadi was asked by investigators to hand over a mobile phone, Hasto was there to fight back. The PDIP Secretary General refused the confiscation
"Arriving at the examination room, the Reported Party then asked Kusnadi to hand over the Petitioner's cellphone for confiscation. However, when the investigator submitted and read the confiscation warrant, the investigator received resistance from the Petitioner because he did not want his cellphone to be confiscated," said the KPK.

That during the search, investigators introduced themselves and then read out the investigation warrant, search warrant, and a confiscation warrant," he explained.
Investigators managed to find one other cellphone besides Hasto Kristiyanto's from Kusnadi's hands. The KPK said the confiscation would still be carried out even though Hasto expressed objections and did not want to sign the confiscation report.
