There Is Efficiency, The Ministry Of Public Works Budget Is Cut To IDR 81.38 Trillion
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto issued presidential instruction (Inpres) Number 1 of 2025 concerning Expenditure Efficiency in the Implementation of the 2025 APBN and APBD.
Through these instructions, the government is now cutting the massive budget in this year's APBN.
One of those affected by the budget cuts was the Ministry of Public Works (PU).
It is known that the Ministry of Public Works' budget was cut by 73 percent of this year's budget ceiling.
When viewed from the 2025 Ministry of Public Works budget ceiling which amounted to IDR 110.95 trillion, the state institution's budget was affected by an efficiency of IDR 81.38 trillion.
PU Minister Dody Hanggodo said the remaining budget for the Ministry of Public Works this year was only Rp29.57 trillion.
"The ceiling for the PU Ministry, which was originally Rp110.95 trillion, has been utilized at Rp81.38 trillion, so the remaining total ceiling after efficiency is Rp29.57 trillion," said Dody in a working meeting (Raker) with Commission V DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, February 6.
Dody admitted that the jumbo budget cuts directly had an impact on the performance of the Ministry of Public Works.
Starting from the cancellation of physical activities, cancellation of the purchase of new tools and the use of selective and efficient emergency response funds.
Then, limiting official travel, significantly cutting office stationery expenditures (ATK), eliminating ceremonial activities, eliminating meetings or out-of-network seminars (Luring), eliminating public relations spending is less priority, efficiency of operational spending and efficiency of non-operational spending.
In addition, efficiency policies also have an impact on the cancellation of infrastructure projects, such as the construction of toll roads along the 7.36 kilometers and routine improvements to national roads of 47,603 kilometers.
With this efficiency, said Dody, the budget allocation for each unit of the PU Ministry organization is also reduced.
In detail, for the Secretariat General (Setjen) Rp443.51 billion, the Inspectorate General (Itjen) Rp76.30 billion, the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Water Resources Rp10.70 trillion and the Directorate General of Highways Rp12.48 trillion
Next, the Directorate General of Human Settlements Rp3.77 trillion, the Directorate General of Strategic Infrastructure Rp1.15 trillion and the Directorate General of Construction Rp378.15 billion.
Furthermore, for the Directorate General of Public Works Infrastructure Financing Rp67.36 billion, the Regional Infrastructure Development Agency (BPIW) Rp283.18 billion and the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) Rp208.87 billion.

Not only that, spending efficiency is also carried out in addition to personnel expenditures of IDR 3.35 trillion, activities sourced from foreign loans, foreign grants, pure rupiah of companions, SBSN and PNBP of IDR 16.30 trillion.
"After we subtract all of that, the Ministry of Public Works' infrastructure expenditure in 2025 is IDR 22.3 trillion or around 24.56 percent of the initial ceiling of IDR 90.93 trillion," he added.
