PKB Legislators Urge The Ministry Of Transportation And Korlantas Polri To Audit Goods Transport Management

JAKARTA - Member of Commission V DPR RI from the National Awakening Party (PKB) faction Ahmad Fauzi urged the government, especially the Ministry of Transportation and Korlantas Polri, to immediately audit the management and supervision of goods transportation in Indonesia.

According to Fauzi, the series of accidents caused by goods transport vehicles is no longer a warning, but because management is out of control and is not carried out optimally.

"I think it is very urgent for the government, in this case the Ministry of Transportation and Korlantas will immediately audit the management of our freight transportation system. How can accidents happen more and more often, that's because the supervision management is not working," said Fauzi, Thursday, February 6.

The Banten electoral district legislator is also concerned about the fatal accident that occurred at the Ciawi toll gate and killed 8 people. According to him, such accidents could be prevented if the government is also seriously monitoring freight transport.

"I have repeatedly asked for supervision of goods transport trucks to be tightened, but it seems that the Ministry of Transportation and officers in the field are still half-hearted. There are already many victims, why do you want to keep quiet," said Fauzi.

The chairman of the Banten PKB DPW stated that the fatal accident at the Ciawi toll gate towards Jakarta was a form of negligence by regulators and rogue companies. If the government and the authorities strictly monitor and take action, Fauzi is sure that a freight transport accident will not occur.

"So after all, this needs firmness, it takes the seriousness of the government and the apparatus. Data on goods transportation companies already exists, it's just a matter of how the management is properly controlled, giving firm sanctions if companies are naughty," he concluded.

Previously, a fatal accident occurred at the Ciawi 2 Toll Gate, Katulampa Village, East Bogor District, Bogor City, West Java, Tuesday, February 4, at around 23.30 WIB. As a result of the incident, 19 people became victims. In detail, 11 were injured and 8 people died.
