Three Debuts In List 23 Of Indonesian U-20 Players For The 2025 U-20 Asian Cup

JAKARTA - The U-20 Indonesian national team coach, Indra Sjafri, has determined 23 players who will be brought to the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup.

From a number of names that were included in the list of the training team's choice, there were three debutants who were trusted to fill the Garuda Muda squad. They are Fava Shefa Rustanto (PSPS), Evandra Florasta (Bhayangkara FC), and Aulia Rahman (PSIS).

In addition to the three names, the names of the Indonesian U-20 national team subscribers such as the captain Dony Tri Pamungkas, Kadek Arel, M. Ragil, Ikram Al Ghifari, and Jens Raven returned to duty.

Those selected have succeeded in meeting the criteria of the coaching team since the training camp which was held on January 5, 2025.

"Hopefully these 23 players will be able to provide maximum capabilities and be the answer to the hopes of all Indonesian people."

"We are optimistic that we can achieve the best results in the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup," said Indra Sjafri.

A number of debutants set aside names that had previously joined.

"Of course, for debutants because they are given the trust and opportunity to play so that they appear in the U-20 Indonesian national team, new, more quality players," said Indra again.

In addition to the training camp, Indonesia U-20 also held three trials with a mini tournament scheme as an assessment material.

On that agenda, Indonesia U-20 won one victory against India (4-0) and lost to Jordan (0-1) and Syria (0-2).

After undergoing the match on January 24-30, 2025, the U-20 Indonesian national team returned to their last training in Jakarta before leaving for China this weekend.

"We validated various data through a series of tests carried out starting from physical, medical, psychological tests and various other test parameters," said Indra Sjafri.

In the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup which will take place from February 12, 2025 in China, the U-20 Indonesian national team is in Group C with Uzbekistan U-20, Iran U-20, and Yemen U-20.

Garuda Muda is targeted to advance to the semifinals to qualify for the 2025 U-20 World Cup which will be held in Chile.
