Failed To Register For SNBP, SMAN 4 Karawang School Demo Students Because They Were Considered Negligent
JAKARTA - Hundreds of students from SMAN 4 Karawang Regency, West Java, failed to register for the National Selection Based on Achievements (SNBP) allegedly due to the negligence of the school that had not yet completed filling out the School and Student Database (PDSS).
For this reason, hundreds of students and parents of SMAN 4 Karawang held a demonstration in the school yard, Wednesday, February 5.
They were annoyed at the school for neglecting to fill in the PDSS data, resulting in a failure to participate in the SNBP.
Ujang (50), one of the student guardians who took part in the action said that their child's failure to participate in SNBP was not due to students' mistakes, but because of school negligence in filling out data on time.
"This is not a failure, this is the same as being thwarted by negligence. Because the school actually has time from January 6, 2025, to January 31, 2025, to fill in PDSS data," he said, quoted by ANTARA.
Ujang admitted that he was disappointed with the school, because his son had worked hard for years to get entrances to universities through report cards.
Students and parents are still waiting for a response from the school who is leaving for Jakarta to visit the ministry regarding a request for a solution to this problem.
Meanwhile, SMAN 4 Karawang School Student Staff, Taupik said the initial problem was known from complaints from students' parents who revealed that the PDSS data had not been resolved until the deadline.
The main obstacle in the registration process is network disruption and data discrepancy of the National Student Identification Number (NISN) and Population Identification Number (NIK).
Even schools have tried to hold hearings with the Ministry of Education to request an extension of time and reopening of PDSS access.
"We also sent emails, together with other schools we also asked the ministry to extend time," he said.
