Lesotho, The World's Highest Country Dubbed By The Kingdom Of The Sky
Speaking of the world's highest country, many may immediately think of Nepal, where Mount Everest is located, or Switzerland with its famous Alps. However, the title of the world's highest country is actually held by Lesotho, a small country in southern Africa.
Reported by VOI from the Mirror.co.uk page on Wednesday, February 5, Lesotho is a unique country whose entire territory is located above 1,000 meters above sea level. No part of the country is lower than 1,400 meters. This makes it the only country in the world with the highest average height.
Although not the country with the highest mountains in the world, Lesotho remains the most towering, so it is dubbed the 'Kingdom in the Sky'. However, Lesotho is not only a matter of statistics, this country is also a natural paradise with a unique landscape and ecosystem.
This hidden point for travelers offers striking differences over other South African countries, with bright blue skies, high mountains, interesting equestrian paths, and a stunning national park. Lesotho has a population of about 2.2 million people, and many of the villages there can only be accessed by riding a horse, walking, or using a small plane.
The Maluti Mountains in Lesotho stretches from north to south, forming a plateau with a height of between 2,700 and 3,000 meters. According to a report by the Express, the highest peak is Thabana Ntlenyana, which towers as high as 3,482 meters east. Fertile volcanic soil at the foot of this mountain is among the best in the country.

By comparison, Spain has an average height of 660 meters above sea level. This makes it one of the highest countries in Europe because of its mountainous landscape.
Switzerland itself is on average at an altitude of 1,350 meters above sea level. However, there is only one country in the world whose entire territory is above 1,000 meters above sea level, and that is Lesotho.
