West Java Manpower And Transmigration Office Value Of PMI Placement To South Korea Grows Orderly Procedures For Migrant Workers
Head of the West Java (Jabar) Provincial Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans) Teppy Wawan Dharmawan revealed that sending Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) to South Korea (South Korea) is expected to motivate residents to take official procedures to work abroad.
"The purpose of this is to remind the public, namely the people of West Java, especially those who work abroad, there are mechanisms, procedures, and procedures. Furthermore, Teppy said the symbolic release of PMI to South Korea at Gedung Sate Bandung, today, are 14 residents from West Java who will work as welders (welder) at shipyards in South Korea, is to optimize government roles and services in PMI services and protection efforts from West Java.
The purpose of this activity is first in order to optimize the role and services of the West Java Provincial government in terms of services and protection of Indonesian migrant workers from West Java.
Then, encourage West Java to prepare and provide reliable and productive PMI.
"And also motivate Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) who are ready to be placed to be able to improve their standard of living in the destination," he said.

Previously, as many as 14 PMIs from West Java were released directly by West Java Governor Beyvi Machmudin to work in the welding position (welder) in the shipbuilding industry in South Korea and became part of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.
Bey said that 14 people scheduled to depart on February 18, 2025, had received Welder FCAW training or Flux Cored Arc Welding, which included the competency unit for welding engineering or industrial welding.
It is informed that Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) is a semi-automatic or automatic welding process that uses a flux-anti welding wire. This process is often used to connect basic metals, such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and scrap metal.
PMIs underwent two months of training at the Center for Vocational Training and Productivity Serang and had received Korean language and cultural training from LPK Seiko and Taeyang Culture.
They have also received certification after passing the test organized by KOSHIPA (Korea Offshore and Shipbuilding Association), which must be followed by all foreign workers who want to work to South Korea in the shipyard sector.
These Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) will work with an E-7 visa placement scheme, namely a work visa for foreign nationals who will work to South Korea, which has technical expertise and skills according to their fields.
The Industrial Sector that requires this visa scheme includes the shipyard industry for work as a welder, pipe fitter, electrical technician and others, with a validity period in accordance with the term of work contract.
