House Of Representatives Commission II: Inauguration Of Regional Head February 20 In Jakarta

Chairman of Commission II of the House of Representatives Muhammad Rifqinizamy Karsayuda said the inauguration of regional heads resulting from the 2024 simultaneous regional elections will be held on February 20, 2025 in Jakarta.

"In principle, God willing, it will be held on February 20, 2025 in the State Capital, in this case, Jakarta," said Rifqi as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 3.

According to him, the inauguration of regional heads will be held in Jakarta because the presidential decree (Keppres) regarding the relocation of the capital city to IKN Nusantara has not yet been issued.

"Because based on the law of the capital city of Nusantara before there was a presidential and presidential regulation which stipulated that IKN Nusantara had moved as the definitive capital city. So Jakarta is still playing its role and function," he explained.

He also revealed that the inauguration schedule had not yet been set, because it prioritized the element of prudence. Because, he is worried that the inauguration of regional heads could experience setbacks.

"On the basis of prudence and providing flexibility over various dynamics that may occur in front, Commission II of the DPR RI has fully handed over this schedule to the government," concluded Rifqi.

Commission II of the DPR has also fully handed over this schedule to the government through the Minister of Home Affairs, the formula which will be through a revision of Presidential Regulation Number 80 of 2024.

The DPR agreed to decide on the schedule for the inauguration of regional heads as a result of the 2024 Pilkada to be handed over to the government. The decision was taken after hearing views from the government and legislators.
