Police Deploy Task Force To Prevent Ecoran LPG Gas Sales

Polda Metro Jaya has deployed a Law Enforcement Task Force (Satgas Gakkum) for the Abuse of Fuel and Gas Distribution Subsidized by the Tipidter Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya to prevent retail sales of 3 kilograms of LPG gas.

"Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya has deployed the Gakkum Task Force for the Abuse of Fuel and Subsidized Gas Distribution (Sub-Directorate of Tipidter Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya) to take a number of steps," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi as reported by ANTARA, Monday, February 3.

Ade Ary explained the first step, namely coordinating with Pertamina and stakeholders (stakehokder) to ensure the availability of subsidized LPG stocks in the jurisdiction of the Polda Metro Jaya.

"Second, supervising and handling the distribution of subsidized LPG, so that it is right on target and does not interfere with its distribution," he said.

Then the third is to enforce the law firmly, professionally, and proportionally if irregularities and misuse of subsidized LPG are found in the jurisdiction of the Polda Metro Jaya.

Ade Ary also explained that Polda Metro Jaya continues to strive to increase protection and increase attendance in the midst of society.

"If things happen, please ask the public to maintain security and order. We, Polda Metro Jaya, will continue to build communication with all stakeholders," he said.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia conveyed that the retailer's prohibition on selling 3 kg LPG aims to control selling prices in the community, so that nothing is sold above the highest retail price (HET).

"Because the price arrives at the base, the government can control it. If the price at the base is increased, the base permit is revoked, fined, and we can find out who the player is," Bahlil said in a press conference entitled The Achievement of the 2024 Energy and Mineral Resources Sector and Work Plans for 2025 at the Office of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jakarta, Monday.

Bahlil said that the emergence of the regulation was motivated by reports received by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources regarding the distribution of 3 kg LPG (peason gas) which was not on target, considering that the melon gas was a subsidy from the government.

In addition to the inaccuracy of targets in distribution, Bahlil also said that there were findings of many retailers selling melon gas above the highest retail price (HET) set by the government.
