The Budget For Official Travel To Socialization Of MPR Is Also Reduced
JAKARTA - MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani said his institution was affected by the policy on the efficiency of the ministry/institutional spending budget, especially on official travel to socialization costs.
The spending budget efficiency policy was instructed by President Prabowo Subianto through Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 1 of 2025 concerning Expenditure Efficiency in the Implementation of the State Budget and Regional Budget for Fiscal Year 2025.
"There is a travel (budget efficiency), there is, basically some trips were hit. Earlier I was reported before coming here by friends of Banggar MPR," said Muzani as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 3.
Although he did not mention the details of the budget efficiency affected by his institution, Muzani emphasized that the MPR was affected by the policy.
He admitted that he received this information from the DPR's Budget Agency (Banggar). However, the details of the budget cuts are still calculated.
"(Socialization) is also the one who gets hit, the one who gets hit. But how many more are counted," said Muzani.
Muzani supports the President's policy considering that there are a number of national priority programs that require budget concentration, so that the budget for less productive programs can be allocated for the program.
"There are several programs that require budget concentration, so it must be taken from several other budgets whose productivity may be reviewed," he said.
In the Presidential Instruction which was signed on January 22, 2025, President Prabowo instructed the government's budget efficiency of IDR 306.69 trillion in the APBN and APBD for Fiscal Year 2025 to maintain fiscal stability and support more optimal public services.

The President has instructed non-priority spending restrictions. Governors, regents, and mayors are required to limit ceremonial spending, comparative studies, and official travel, with a 50 percent reduction in official travel.
In addition, efficiency also targets honorarium spending and supporting activities that do not have measurable output are also limited.
In his instructions, the President directs all ministries/agencies to focus on public service performance.
The budget must be focused on improving public services, not just equitable distribution between regional devices or based on the budget pattern of the previous year.
