Lawyers Ban Donny Tri Istiqomah From Talking After Being Examined By The KPK: Don't Answer, Don't Answer

JAKARTA - PDI-P (PDIP) lawyer Donny Tri Istiqomah has undergone an examination before the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators today, Monday, February 3. The incident occurred after the process took place.

This incident began when Donny finished undergoing an examination at 15.15 WIB in the bribery case for the interim replacement (PAW) of DPR RI members who ensnared him and PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto. He left the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta accompanied by a number of his lawyers.

He then explained that he was examined as a suspect and had submitted a statement before investigators.

"Today I fulfill my obligations as a good citizen. I was summoned as a suspect for questioning regarding the case that was suspected to me," Donny told reporters at the location.

Donny then asked his lawyer to explain. However, his lawyer whispered to him when reporters asked whether Hasto had money to take care of PAW, a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives.

"Don't answer, don't answer," whispered the lawyer who was later identified as Erman Umar. He was standing next to Donny.

Hearing this, the media crew then protested the lawyer's statement. Donny then explained that he had explained everything to investigators.

So, all questions related to the examination should be asked to the anti-corruption commission. "My legal adviser was accompanying me to be examined," he said.

"The business related to the subject matter of the case, please ask the investigator, Mr. Erman meant that earlier," continued Donny.

Previously reported, the KPK developed a bribery case for the management of the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives which ensnared former PDIP candidate Harun Masiku. Two people were named as suspects, namely PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah who are PDIP cadres as well as lawyers.

It didn't stop there, Hasto was also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the OTT was carried out.
