PT TRPN Allegedly Violating The Utilization Of Sea Space In Bekasi, KKP Will Implement Administrative Sanctions

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) revealed that there were allegations of violations of the use of marine space by PT Tunas Ruang Pelabuhan Nusantara (PT TRPN) at the Bekasi sea fence location, West Java.

Special Staff to the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KP) for Public Relations and Public Communication Doni Ismanto said that on January 31 his party had summoned and examined PT TRPN.

"On January 31, 2025, representatives of PT TRPN have fulfilled the summons for verification of indications of reclamation violations and the suitability of sea space utilization activities," Doni said in a written statement, quoted Monday, February 3.

The examination was carried out based on the provisions of the applicable laws, including Government Regulation (PP) Number 21 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Spatial Planning.

Then, based on PP No. 85/2021 concerning Types and Tariffs on Types of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) Applicable to KKP and PermenKP No. 31/2021.

During the examination, PT TRPN admitted that it had violated the use of marine space without a permit. It is known, the total area of violations reached more than 76 hectares.

For this reason, Doni ensured that his party would receive administrative fines for this action. In addition, PT TRPN is also required to restore environmental conditions, including the lifting of the bamboo fence that has been installed in areas without permission.

"The imposition of administrative sanctions does not necessarily legalize activities that have been carried out without permission. The examination of PT TRPN will continue until all obligations of recovery and sanctions are met according to the provisions," said Doni.

As a further step, PT TRPN will submit the results of the investment value calculation as the basis for determining administrative fines.
