Today's Weather, Majority Of Big Cities In Indonesia Are Cloudy And Rainy

JAKARTA The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the weather in big cities in Indonesia on Monday will generally be cloudy, with some areas raining.

"In Java, heavy rains that have the potential to be accompanied by lightning and strong winds are expected to occur in Jakarta and Serang. Meanwhile, Bandung, Semarang, and Surabaya are thick cloudy. Light rain has the potential to occur in Yogyakarta," said BMKG forecaster Eriska Febriati, quoted from ANTARA, Monday, February 3.

In Sumatra, thick clouds are expected to blanket a number of areas, including Aceh, Medan, Tanjung Pinang, Jambi, and Pangkal Pinang. Meanwhile, light to moderate rain has the potential to occur in Padang, Pekanbaru, Palembang, and Bandar Lampung. Heavy rains are predicted to flush Bengkulu.

"The Denpasar and Mataram areas are expected to be thick cloudy, while Kupang has the potential to experience light rain," he said.

In Kalimantan, heavy rains have the potential to occur in Tanjung Selor and Palangka Raya. Meanwhile, Samarinda and Pontianak are expected to experience light rain, while Banjarmasin is thick cloudy.

Moving to Sulawesi, the weather in Makassar, Palu, Gorontalo, and Kendari is forecasted to be thick cloudy. Meanwhile, light rain has the potential to fall in Mamuju and Manado.

In eastern Indonesia, light to moderate rain is predicted in Nabire, Ambon, Jayawijaya, Merauke, Ternate, and Manokwari. Meanwhile, heavy rains have the potential to flush Sorong.
