Pramono: ASN In Jakarta Don't Think Polygamy Could Be Possible In My Era
JAKARTA - The elected governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, emphasized that state civil servants (ASN) in Jakarta are not allowed to carry out polygamy during his tenure with Rano Karno. He emphasized that violations of this rule would lead to dismissal.
The statement was made by Pramono after receiving the honorary title "Abang" and the tiger nail pin from the Betawi Youth Council at the Men's Al Hamid Putra Islamic Boarding School, Cilangkap, Cipayung, East Jakarta.
"I am a monogamous adherent, and for me, ASN in Jakarta should never think about polygamy in my era," Pramono said, quoted from ANTARA.
Pramono emphasized that ASNs who want to have polygamy are welcome, as long as they are not employees who work under their government.
"I say it is open, even before officially serving as governor. I am a monogamous adherent. Others please have polygamy, but not ASN," he said.
Furthermore, Pramono said that this policy also applies to himself and the Deputy Governor of Jakarta, Rano Karno.
He emphasized that every ASN that continues to practice polygamy will be subject to strict sanctions.
"Yes, it is not permitted. If it has been banned and is still violated, then it must be fired. I also do not allow Bang Doel (Rano Karno)," said Pramono.
"Never mind, basically I am a monogamous adherent, and I will apply it in everyday life, including in the Jakarta Governor's Office. If in other places, please, but for ASN, it is not allowed," he added.
The Provincial Government of Jakarta has issued Governor Regulation (Pergub) Number 2 of 2025 which regulates procedures for granting marriage and divorce permits for ASN.
The policy aims to provide clear legal guidelines for ASN in living their personal lives, especially in terms of marriage and divorce.
