Bali Police Releases Russian Citizen, Called Not Involved In Completion Of Ukrainian Caucasian Robbers

DENPASAR - Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Bali Regional Police released foreign nationals from Russia Khasan Askabov (30) because they were proven not to be involved in the kidnapping and robbery of Ukrainian Caucasians Igor Lermakov.

The Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police, Kombes Ariasandy, said that after examining the foreigner who was arrested on Thursday (30/1), investigators found no evidence that KA was on the list of 9 people wanted by the police.

"From the results of the examination, no evidence of involvement was found, because at the time of the incident he was in Dubai," said Sandy as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, February 1.

He said after his status was not proven, KA was immediately released and continued his journey to Dubai.

Separately, KA's attorney, Edward Pangkahila, said his client denied all the accusations directed at him.

One of them, KA was not in Bali when Igor Lermakov was caught in a robbery and kidnapping.

In addition, when confronted with victim Igor Lermakov, the victim was unsure of his testimony and had never met KA before.

Therefore, after being strengthened by the evidence revealed by KA, the accusations against KA were finally refuted.

After that, KA is allowed to return to Dubai to meet his family.

Previously, KA was arrested by joint officers from the Bali Police and Immigration at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. He is suspected of being one of the nine gangs who kidnapped and robbed Ukrainian foreigners.
