Supratman said the granting of amnesty in Papua is being handled by the criminal director of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. Currently, the Directorate General of AHU is verifying the names of 44,000 amnesty recipients.
"The amnesty is being handled by the Director of Crimes, yes, it was carried out by the Director of Crimes. We have caution regarding the issue of 44,000 names. So, because of that, we are waiting for about next week, I have asked the Director of Crimes, at the Directorate General of AHU to immediately complete the 44,000 verification. After that is finished, we will send it to the President, "said Supratman, Wednesday, January 29.
"For those who are OPM, those who are armed criminals, we don't have amnesty. What we are giving amnesty are friends who are suspected of carrying out treason movements but are non-armed," he continued.
Supratman emphasized that the Ministry of Law and Human Rights agreed that amnesty for the KKB should not be carried out. "We agree that what the armed movement is not carried out," he said.
The Minister of Law and Human Rights claimed to have coordinated with Coordinating Minister for Kumham Imipas Yusril Ihza Mahendra regarding this matter. However, according to the Gerindra politician, the decision on who receives the amnesty remains in the hands of President Prabowo Subianto.

"It's very, very coordination because the Coordinating Minister in several ways also coordinates. But is it a decision, isn't it there. Because the final decision is in the President, not in me, not in anyone. But this is the authority of the President," said Supratman.
The former chairman of the DPR Baleg did not ask for appreciation from Komnas HAM regarding the discourse on granting this amnesty. Because he again emphasized that the recipient of Amnesty was not an armed group.
"We do not ask for appreciation from anyone. But what we report and we have agreed together with the President, except later yes, that after we submit this, the President then asks for it, we will definitely do it," he said.
"But what we are processing now is not the armed movement," concluded Supratman.
