Erick Thohir Says Women Can Support SOE Transformation
JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said female employees have an important role to play in supporting the sustainability of SOE transformation.
"Repairs and transformation of SOEs can continue with the support of female employees," said Erick as quoted in Jakarta, Monday.
He admitted, since the beginning of his leadership at the Ministry of SOEs, apart from providing a sense of security and comfort, his party has opened the widest possible opportunity for women.
"Including seeking a work environment free from discrimination or gender-based violence," said Erick.
On the other hand, one of the state-owned companies, PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) Group, recorded that it has 25 percent of the top talent of women who occupy the company's senior management position, out of a total of 993 permanent female employees.

"Until 2024, SIG Group has 993 permanent female employees and of these, 25 percent of them are top female talents who occupy senior management positions in GIS," said Director of Human Resources and General Affairs of SIG Agung Wiharto in a statement confirmed in Jakarta, Monday.
Agung said that his party is committed to creating an inclusive work environment, providing opportunities for employees to contribute optimally regardless of gender differences.
This is in line with the policy of SOE Minister Erick Thohir to support the realization of Asta Cita Presiden Prabowo regarding gender equality, SIG continues to encourage female employees to play a role and take part in providing the best work in advancing the Company.
"SIG's commitment to encouraging the role of women can be seen in the demographics of SIG Group employees," he said.
He said that although the building materials industry is known as an industry dominated by men, even the position of Operations Director of SIG is currently filled by one of the best female talents, SIG Reni Wulandari.
"This is proof that SIG provides career opportunities based on competence regardless of gender," he said.
Agung said that GIS is committed to creating a healthy and conducive work environment to encourage employees to develop optimally.
The company guarantees equal opportunities in the recruitment process and career opportunities without making gender the main aspect, as well as prioritizing the principle of equality and fairness in the process of human resource management (HR).

Furthermore, he said that his party is also committed to continuing to develop the availability of female employees and fill managerial and strategic positions based on competency considerations and performance assessment results.
