Meeting Malaysian PM, Prabowo Agreed To Solve Manpower Problems

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim agreed to resolve bilateral issues, including those related to labor issues.

The Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta on Monday informed that the agreement took place when President Prabowo and Anwar Ibrahim held a bilateral meeting at Twin Tower Petronas, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, Monday, January 25, 2025.

"We will solve bilateral problems. We also agree to order the workforce issue. All areas we have agreed to increase cooperation," said President Prabowo as quoted by ANTARA.

The President further said that this meeting also discussed palm oil where the two countries are the world's largest producers of palm oil at around 80 percent.

"We are also the largest palm oil producer between Indonesia and Malaysia. Maybe we produce 80% of production, and it turns out that palm oil is a very important commodity. Every time I go to certain countries they always say they need palm oil. Egypt, India, Pakistan, all," he said.

Prabowo's visit to Malaysia was to fulfill the invitation of the King of Malaysia, Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim.

Prabowo's arrival was accepted with a ceremony of honor at the State Palace Parade Field starting with the singing of the national anthem of the two countries, followed by a cannon boom marking 21 times.

After the ceremony, Prabowo attended an audience with Sultan Ibrahim, where he was also awarded the very Respected Darjah Kerabat Johor I (The Most Estatemed Order of the Johor Royal I).
