Tired Of The Trial, The Judge Adjourned Rizieq Shihab

JAKARTA - The panel of judges decided to postpone the trial of the case of alleged crowds and violations of the Megamendung health protocol with the defendant Rizieq Shihab. The reason is that all parties must get enough rest during Ramadan.

"So the public prosecutor is like that, this 226 (crowd in Megamendung) case is over for today. Then we can no longer continue", said Presiding judge Suparman Nyompa during a trial at the East Jakarta District Court, Monday, April 19.

Thus, said Suparman, if there are still witnesses, the prosecutor should present them at the next trial. This is because the judge also needs to rest.

"If there are still witnesses, it will be continued on Thursday (April 22). Regarding cases 221, 222, we are no longer strong, we need a break because this fasting month is like that. We also need other worship services. So up to here", continued Suparman.

Responding to this, the prosecutor said that in the next trial five witnesses would be presented. However, the identities of the witnesses have not been specified.

"There are five (witnesses)", said the prosecutor.

"So the trial will reopen on Thursday, April 22, 2021", Suparman said.

For information, in this trial, the prosecutor presented four witnesses. They are the Head of Satpol PP Bogor Regency Agus Ridhallah, the Head of Public Order for the Bogor Regency Teguh Sugiarto, the Satpol PP Megamendung District Iwan Volunteer and the Head of Sub-district Megamendung Endi Rismawan.
