KKP Re-unloading Sea Restriction Activities Part Of Pagar 30 Km In Tangerang Waters

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) has stopped the mysterious sea fence activity in the sea area bordering Tangerang and Serang. This information was conveyed by the public on Sunday, January 26, 2025.

Special Staff to the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KP) for Public Relations and Public Communication, Doni Ismanto, said that budgeting activities occurred in the waters of Pedaleman Village, Tanara District, Serang Regency.

"Based on information from fishermen and observations, the sea fence is part of a 30 km long bamboo fence from Tanjung Pasir, which until now the owner has not known," said Doni in his official statement, Monday, January 27, 2025.

Doni said the sea fence in the Serang area borders a sea fence in Muncung Village, Kronjo District, Tangerang Regency, which had been dismantled.

According to him, the Special Police Team for Supervision of Marine and Fisheries Resources (PSDKP Police) together with the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Service of Serang Regency have directly inspected the fence.

He emphasized that part of the fence had been dismantled and left only bamboo poles still stuck in the waters.

"As a first step, the team put up a banner to stop the fencing activities at the location of Muncung Village, Kronjo District, which borders the Pedaleman Village area," he said.

Furthermore, Doni emphasized that sea fencing activities without permission could threaten the access of fishermen and the water ecosystem. He also invited the public to continue to play an active role in reporting similar incidents.

After this, the KKP will coordinate with related parties to ensure that this case is handled thoroughly.

"Prevent similar incidents in the future," he concluded.
