PAM Jaya Repair Program Needs To Be Supported To Reach 100 Percent Pipe Clean Water Target

JAKARTA - The PAM Jaya program to improve clean water services for the people of Jakarta needs to be encouraged to meet the 100 percent piped clean water target.

"We must be optimistic that Jakarta can achieve the target of 100 percent clean water pipeline with a strong commitment from various parties," said Member of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Nur Afni Sajim quoting Antara.

He gave his appreciation to PAM Jaya for his success in increasing the number of customers after becoming an independent business entity.

However, he stressed the importance of the company's program sustainability in improving clean water services for the people of Jakarta.

According to Nur Afni, PAM Jaya's achievement in adding 100 to 150 thousand new customers can have a positive impact on Regional Original Revenue (PAD), especially in the midst of changing Jakarta's status which is no longer the nation's capital.

"This is a big step that should be appreciated, but it must be accompanied by improving the quality of clean water services," he said.

Nur Afni also highlighted PAM Jaya's ambitious target of reaching 100 percent of the pipeline and reducing the water leakage rate to 13 percent by 2030.

He compared it to Singapore, where the water leak rate was only around 7 percent.

He emphasized that improving clean water services requires synergy between PAM Jaya, internal management, and local governments.

This program is expected to provide tangible benefits for the community, in line with the mandate of the 1945 Constitution to utilize natural wealth for the common good.

"This program must continue to be monitored so that it runs according to schedule and has a real impact, both on the quality of service and the welfare of the community," he said.

With this achievement, PAM Jaya continues to prove its commitment to improving clean water services, as well as encouraging a real contribution to regional development.

Previously, PAM Jaya President Director Arief Nasrudin said that the 100 percent clean water distribution service in 2030 was the company's commitment to serving clean water needs.

This effort is a commitment of BUMD owned by the Jakarta Provincial Government in serving the clean water needs of all Jakarta residents and reducing the water loss rate (NRW) by 30 percent.

"The service coverage is 100 percent by 2030 with water distribution reaching 32,950 liters per second or the equivalent of 2,846,880 cubic meters per day," said Arief.
