Tannos' Arrest Is Considered To Be Able To Reveal Other Perpetrators In The E-KTP Case

JAKARTA - The arrest of fugitive Paulus Tannos alias Thian Po Tjhin in Singapore is considered to be a way for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to ensnare other perpetrators who participate in enjoying the hot money from the e-KTP corruption.

This was conveyed by a criminal law expert from Trisakti University Abdul Ficar Hadjar to reporters, Jakarta, Sunday, January 26.

According to him, if there is strong evidence, several names of celebrities who may be involved and enjoy the KPK can be followed up on the hot money e-KTP. The names of celebrities include Pramono Anung, Puan Maharani and Ganjar Pranowo.

"If there is sufficient support for other evidence, the KPK can call the name of the name mentioned by the perpetrator/witness. Including the famous name is indeed mentioned (such as Puan, Pramono to Ganjar)," said Ficar.

Regarding the status of the three politicians from the white-nosed bull party, it is stated that Ficar depends on the results of the examination conducted by the KPK investigation team later.

"The matter of whether to be placed as a witness or a suspect depends on the information given," he said.

Based on VOI records, the former Speaker of the DPR, Setya Novanto, once mentioned the names of Puan Maharani and Pramono Anung in the trial. According to Novanto, information on Puan Maharani's involvement, who at that time served as Chair of the DPR faction and Pramono Anung as a member of the DPR, she obtained it from two businessmen Made Oka Masagung and Andi Narogong.

"At that time, Puan Maharani served as Chair of the PDIP faction in the DPR, while Pramono Anung was a member of the DPR. "Mrs. Puan Maharani, Chair of the PDIP faction, and Pramono were US $ 500,000. That was Made Oka's statement," said Setya Novanto to the panel of judges when questioned as a defendant.

Pramono Anung denied the accusations, and said he had never even had anything to do with the electronic ID card case. "This is everything that concerns other people he said. But for those concerned himself, he always said he didn't remember," Pramono Anung told reporters at the time.

Meanwhile, for Ganjar Pranowo, mentioned by the former general treasurer of the Democratic Party, M Nazaruddin. "Did you mention that there were several people who saw directly receive money like Mr. Ganjar. I read the previous verdict, the witness statement did Mr. Ganjar initially refuse?" asked KPK prosecutor Abdul Basir to Nazaruddin in a follow-up hearing in the e-KTP project corruption case with the defendant Setya Novanto at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Monday (19/2/2018).

"Yes, because at that time all the deputy chairmen were given 100 thousand dollars and Pak Ganjar didn't want to," said Nazaruddin.

"Mr. Ganjar asked how much?" asked the prosecutor again.

"USD 500 thousand," replied Nazaruddin.
