The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Cannot Confirm The Repatriation Time Of Paulus Tannos
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has not been able to confirm the time for the repatriation of fugitives in the corruption case of the electronic KTP (KTP-el) procurement project, Paulus Tannos alias Thian Po Tjhin. The reason is that Indonesia's extradition efforts to the Singaporean authorities are still in progress. "There is no information yet when it was flown to Jakarta, because it is still in progress," said KPK Spokesperson, Tessa Mahardika, to reporters, Saturday, January 25. However, if referring to the extradition agreement between Indonesia and Singapore, there are still about 45 days to complete the administrative requirements. That time has been calculated since the perpetrators were detained. It is known that Paulus Tannos alias Thian Po Tjhin was detained on January 17. Thus, Indonesia has a time limit of up to March 3, 2025. "The article of 7 letters (5), Indonesia has had 45 days since its temporary detention to complete the required administrative requirements," said Tessa. Previously reported, Paulus Tannos alias Thian Po Tjhin was arrested by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) Singapore. The arrest of the fugitive began with Divhubinter sending a Proofal Arrest letter from Singapore authorities at the end of 2024. The case of corruption in the procurement of this e-KTP has cost the state up to Rp2.3 trillion if referring to the Financial Audit Agency (BPK) report.
