Preventing A Spike In New Cases Of COVID-19, DPR SE On Homecoming Restrictions Disseminated
JAKARTA - As many as 23 Indonesian workers (TKI) who were sent back to Indonesia through the Sri Bintan Pura Tanjungpinang Port from Malaysia were positively infected with COVID-19. This cluster of TKI caused Covid cases in Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands (Kepri) to soar at the end of last week.
Responding to this, Deputy Speaker of the DPR Azis Syamsuddin asked the Ministry of Manpower (Kemenaker) to immediately coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) spread throughout the world as well as labor distribution companies to disseminate Circular (SE) Number M / 7 / HK.04 / IV / 2021.
"The SE is an effort to limit Eid homecoming activities for Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) to prevent and cut off the transmission of the virus carried by PMI," said Azis, Monday, April 19.
The DPR also encourages the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) and local governments, especially those located in border areas in and out of Indonesia, to tighten health checks according to the COVID-19 health protocol for Indonesian citizens who come from abroad and foreign nationals (WNA) who will enter Indonesia. .
This method also aims to ensure that all Indonesian citizens and foreigners who enter Indonesia do not carry and spread the Corona virus.
"Appealing to all PMIs not to return to Indonesia in order to celebrate Eid for the good of themselves and their families in the country, this is solely to prevent the transmission of the Corona virus that may be brought by PMI from overseas countries," said Azis Syamsuddin.
