Rumaila Oil Tank On Fire
JAKARTA - A fire broke out in a crude oil processing unit at the Rumaila Iraq oil field on Friday. Firefighters tried to extinguish the blaze.
Operations on the ground were not affected, sources were quoted as saying by Reuters on Friday, January 24.
The fire started with the oil storage tank in the crude oil unit (DS5). Firefighters are still trying to extinguish the fire, two engineers in the field said.
Two local oil workers reportedly suffered minor burns.
Production in Rumaila's superman oil field in Iraq reaches around 1.45 million barrels per day (bpd).
