Bimtek Holds, Megawati Reminds PDIP DPRD Members To Monitor Food Estate Projects In Merauke To MBG

Chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri held technical guidance (bimtek) for thousands of members of the PDIP legislature today. The technical guidance for 3 hours was held behind closed doors.

PDIP Central Executive Board (DPP) chairman Deddy Yevry Sitorus revealed that Megawati had several things in the spotlight. One of them is the food estate project in Merauke, South Papua which is being run by President Prabowo Subianto.

The 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia, continued Deddy, even summoned members of the Merauke DPRD. He reminded that the food barn project should run without destroying the existing ecosystem.

"One thing that was mentioned by the mother for a long time, even calling the members of the legislature, it's about the food estate project in Merauke, how it can really go well, by paying attention to the conditions of the ecosystem there, and the customary rights of the local community," said Deddy at JIExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Friday, January 24.

Megawati also mentioned the free nutritious food program (MBG) which has been going on since early January in various regions. Members of the DPRD were asked by Megawati to carry out the supervisory function so that the program runs effectively.

"Indeed, there is something to mention about eating nutrition for free. There, (it is reminded) so that the program really runs usefully," said Deddy.

In today's technical guidance, PDIP presents 3,214 members of the provincial and district/city DPRDs whose factions are in the 2024-2029 period. Thousands of cadres who are now representatives of the people are briefed on various matters, ranging from governance supervision to regional financial management.

PDIP also presented a number of sources from external parties to the party, one of which was Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.

"Indeed, the materials presented are so that friends in the regions understand the process of government, finance, and also understand how to carry out their functions properly," he explained.

PDIP, continued Feddy, needs to hold consolidation for members of the legislature. This is because 50 percent of DPRD members throughout Indonesia have never served as members of the legislature in the past period.

"If you look at it, 50 percent of district and provincial DPRD members, those are new faces of young children who have just joined the party, so it is necessary to provide them with more ammunition, first and so on, there will be further training for those who are members of the legislature in the regions and provinces," he added.
